Physalis

This print is from physalis (Chinese lantern) skeleton I found while gardening and decided to draw for a print. The drawing is much bigger than the found physalis and even so the vein detailing still had to be simplified. The carving of this was about 16 hours and quite fiddly. I have printed it in metallic gold ink as this does actually very closely match the colour of the skeleton itself. A simple image that is quite striking.

Printed with Cranfield traditional block printing ink on Canaletto Velino paper, signed and dated.
