Snowdrops

Snowdrops are a wonderful sign that winter is coming to a close, the days are getting longer and hopefully some sun is round the corner. In Greek mythology they represent the return of Persephone’s return from the under world. They are also one of the January birth flowers, associated with hope, purity and new beginnings.

This is a 5 layer reduction print with the image measuring 5 x 7 inches, printed on Somerset Satin cotton paper. The reduction methods involves carving from the same block once the layer of ink is printed, in effect destroying the block with each layer - no going back, no reprinting. As with all Lino prints there maybe be some variation in ink transfer between prints but this is part of the character and uniqueness of hand printing.

This is an edition of 12 prints, each is numbered and signed.
