Wisteria Leaves Cyanotype Cushion Cover

Cyanotype on fabric of Wisteria leaves, which are a personal favourite of mine.

The fabric is coated with the cyanotype UV reactive chemicals, I then add the plant matter on top and place in the sun. Once fully exposed I rinse out all the chemicals which is when the magic happens. The areas UV (sunlight) light reached turns the wonderful blue and the covered areas stay light. These have then been hand appliquéd to the cushion cover.

They are supplied without the cushion pad but take a 42cm square one which are easily available.

The cushion cover is washable using phosphate free detergents in a cool wash, iron on reverse.

Lots of direct sunlight can cause fading.
