Monstera - four layer reduction Lino Print, limited edition
Sold out£40.00
This Lino print is taken from one of my own monstera plant, I love the way the new leaves unfurl and darken as they open - reach a deep green from a very pale beginning.
In this print I first printed the lightest shade of green and then carved away more as I printed progressively darker shades of green; this is where the name reduction print comes from as there is less and less of the Lino block as you progress through the print. It also means there is no going back and it cannot be repeated as the Lino block is effectively destroyed in the process.
With this print I ended up with 6 prints in the edition. As all the prints are printed by hand there can be some slight variation in prints but this is part of the character of Lino prints.
Each print is numbered, signed and dated.
Print using Cranfield Safe Wash inks on Canaletto Velino 165gsm paper. Measures approximately 25cm by 35cm, unframed.
